I write software, produce music and run a small component business. Lately those three meet in one place: tools that let people shape sound with AI.
I review the work of other experts, checking their evaluations of speech models and giving short, constructive feedback so each task is ready for the client. Before moving into review I did the evaluation work myself, comparing synthetic Mandarin and English speech and writing detailed assessments of voice quality, prosody, turn-taking, backchannel and pacing.
A VST3 synthesizer you control with words. Describe a sound, such as "shorter, more pluck-like", and a networked AI adjusts the parameters to match. Prompts map to synth settings through an embedding space, starting with retrieval and moving on to regression as the dataset keeps growing.
An AI Chat tab sits next to the usual synth pages, and the knobs move on screen as the AI changes them. The language model never writes raw values: it returns what to change, in which direction and by how much, and the plugin sets the knobs from the current sound.
Every sound is measured on five scales: brightness, low-end weight, movement, width and space. The scales are learned from 2115 rendered presets, sorted into 15 sound categories.
Custom object detection for a Hiwonder MasterPi robot. I merged several public datasets, audited the labels, and dropped one set after finding boxes drawn around noise instead of birds. The final model runs on the Pi's own camera feed.
Software for a staffing company that turns a candidate's PDFs and free-text notes into a finished recommendation letter in an Excel template. It runs on a local model through Ollama, so candidate data never leaves the machine.
Hands-on work from a 20 day bootcamp: VPC design, EC2, EBS volumes, load balancing with ALB, and an RDS migration. It also includes Linux administration on WSL and fixing out-of-memory problems on a small instance.

I lead sales and marketing at Chiplery, an electronic components distributor that ships from China through Hong Kong. I also built the company website from scratch and run all of it myself, from design to day-to-day upkeep. It runs on Cloudflare, and customer email goes out through Zoho CRM. Before this I worked in overseas component trading: quotations, invoices, inventory and all client correspondence, in both English and Japanese.
